Inner Voice

To a passive onlooker, he may appear delusional. But he was far from one.

Did he have a plan? No. Did he have a goal; albeit even a vague one? No. But something told him it was the ‘right thing’ to do. May be it was his inner voice. He couldn’t be sure.

He was so social, and so indiscreet about his doings that it made his friends feel that they have a stake in him. That they can tell him what he should do. That what was ‘rational!’ And most times, it echoed back as his. But this time was different.

This time he could sense his inner voice drowning in the sea of others’ opinion. This time the distinction between opinion of others and his own was clear to him. And he was ready to listen to his lone voice of dissent. And act on it. May be.
