He snapped at her when she refused to meet; she had to ‘fulfill an earlier commitment.’
Being this self-introspective guy he is, he wondered why does he get so worked up when she tells him that she has other priorities beyond him. May be because he feels that since she means the world to him and he’d be willing to live without anyone but without her, he can expect the same level of devotion. It is odd though that he would expect her to be with him all the time, to be with him wherever he went, and to support all his career or life moves. As when he puts himself to such a test, he can’t see himself doing so for her.
May be he is a hypocrite. But that is not the kind of person he wanted to become. That is not the kind of person he was inherently. Or was he?
